There are still two Erik Chisholm commemorative lunch-hour concerts to look forward to at the South African College of Music this year. They are the final in a three-part series to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of the Scottish composer, pianist and conductor.
Routes to Roots was staged on 6 May at the Baxter Concert Hall as part of UCT's annual celebration of all things African; Africa Month. The roots in question are the African roots shared by people living on the continent and those in the African diaspora.
An evening of African contemporary movements & sounds, directed by Maxwell Xolani Rani & Lisa Wilson.
Routes to Roots, by UCT School of Dance will be presented at 7pm on Wednesday 6 May.
The crème de la crème of UCT's Opera School perform in the Cape Town Opera's staging of Verdi's La Traviata which runs at Artscape from 30 April to 9 May, 2015. The full cast lists can be viewed here.
