The Centre for Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies

presents Dance, (e)merge, Theatre - the 10th Anniversary of CONFLUENCES at its  Hiddingh Campus and the Little Theatre

Thursday 29 August – Saturday 31 August 2019.

Our 3-day conference programme includes contemporary performances, interactive posters, workshops, focussed panel discussions, scholarly papers and two key note addresses: A/prof Rolando Vasquez, (University of Utrecht) leads the charge in his re-examination of decolonial ways of thinking and Prof Nadine George Graves (Ohio State University) probes issues of interdisciplinarities. Other topics navigate ecologies and dance  pedagogies, and immersive performance opening complex discourses of ‘body’ and perfomativity. Confluences has already attracted leading theorists, authors in Dance & Theatre from Nigeria, Zimbabwe, India , Uganda, UK, Netherlands, USA, Denmark.

The Little Theatre  will be opened daily for cosy coffees and other delicious treats that provide a welcome space for your networking and further robust discussion

We invite you to register early as several performances have limited seating. Daily rates are available. We encourage you to spend the full three days to experience this important calendar event of the Centre for Theatre , Dance and Performance Studies (CTDPS).

All registered delegates are invited to the opening nite Cocktail Function at Hiddingh Hall on Wednesday 28 August at 18h00.
